Since I was 16 years old, I was drawn to help others.

Since I was 16 years old, I was drawn to help others. I often pondered on why people can or cannot achieve progress or growth in their lives. I’d observe how our backgrounds, support systems and abilities to overcome adversities varied from person to person.

One early experience that stands out to me is what I learned from my best friend in high school. He had a rough background before he was housed in a treatment community that helped adolescents transition toward leading productive, fulfilling lives. With the right support and positive direction, he was able to excel for the first time. I wanted to help empower others to reach their maximum potential, so studying psychology was an easy choice.

“How many things have to happen to you before something occurs to you?”

~ Robert Frost

Through many years of education and training, I learned that the most powerful tool we have is our ability to connect and become attuned to my patients. Ten years into providing talk therapy, I had a turning point. At a brainspotting session, I was awestruck as I watched a clinician work with a patient and witnessed the immediate effects of the treatment.

In this critical moment, I knew brainspotting was a more powerful modality that I can provide for my clients. I immediately began my training and have observed life-changing progress in my clients. Tappinginto our brain and activating its healing powers is the key to our well-being.

In my free time, I love being a new mom, going on adventures with my family, hiking, kayaking, and exploring the redwoods. I also practice mindfulness and self-care with a focus on developing a healthy bond with my family.
